Recently I’ve come to a realization: A web site doesn’t have to have to have a slick Web 2.0ish look to be popular.
Just look at some of the most popular web sites:
Craigslist
Wikipedia
Google
PlentyOfFish

Well this Silverlight stuff has definitely got me exited. There is a lot of talk about it. Robert Scoble says “Microsoft rebooted the Web“. Michael Arrington says, “it makes Flash/Flex look like an absolute toy“. Basically there is a LOT of discussion/debate about it in the blogosphere.

The technology world is full of buzz about Microsoft’s latest technology - Silverlight (formally known as WPF/E).
The pitch is that Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering the next generation of media experiences and rich interactive applications (RIAs) for the Web. Silverlight integrates with existing Web applications and, of course, almost all Web technologies you are already using like ASP.NET AJAX and/or ASP.NET in common.
More information can be found on their official site - http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/

This one is based in Czech republic and Slovak republic.
Pros: Supports .NET 1.x, 2.0 and 3.0 framework. Good for running basic ASP.NET applications.
Cons: Very very […]

I finally got invited to beta test Joost. I’ve been playin’ around with it since a few days. I even watched a 1hr documentary on it. The quality and sound was very good, way better than YouTube or any other web based players. I also loved the UI; very very slick! Well anyway instead of saying more, here are some screen shots! Enjoy!
